1971
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, U.S.S.R.

1977-84
Beginning of an artistic apprenticeship. Art Studio of Naum Ostashinsky. Takes part in youth shows within U.S.S.R. and abroad (Japan, Germany, etc.)

1985- 88
Study in the National School of Architecture and Fine Arts: faculties of architecture, painting and graphic art. Professors: O. Ivantsov, Z. Lerman, O. Zhyvotkov. Private instruction at the studios of Mikhail Gleizer and Yuriy Yurovsky. Begins to participate in local and regional exhibitions within the Ukraine.

1988- 89
Work in the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, scene painting, decoration, design.

1989- 92
Study at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Departments: architecture, painting.

1992
Immigration to the U.S.

1992- 93
Works for commissions. Beginning of literary studies.

1994- 99
Study at Long Island University, Brooklyn and C.W. Graduation from C.W.Post College with a degree in English Literature.

1997- 99
Work at C.W. Post Rifle Range Theatre Company, scene painting and costume design. Association with Hillwood Commons Art Gallery, C.W.Post Campus. A two man show, 1998.

2000
Travels back to Kiev. Together with wife, Olga Morozova, a Kiev painter, travels to Prague, Czech Republic, and lives there intermittently for nearly two years. A renewed interest in cityscape. Paints views of Prague, Amsterdam, Rome, Venice.

2001
Returns to New York. Study at the Graduate Center of CUNY, Comparative Literature program. Focuses on aesthetics, semiotics, inter-art field, and Russian writers and artists in exile. Teaching literature at CUNY (Baruch) and C.W.Post College.

2001-02
Works on the European, Manhattan and Brooklyn paintings. Shows at his Brooklyn studio and at art cafes/galleries in NY City.

2002-04
Continued work on urban cycle alongside with the figurative explorations. Works for commission. Holds individual shows at 12 Chairs cafe-gallery (Soho, NY).

2005
Holds a two-person exhibition Brooklyn Landscapes: Albert Fayngold and Catharine Balco at the gallery of the Brooklyn Public Library (Central Branch, Grand Army Plaza). Paintings enlarged into banners for display around the Library.
